PCM-7700 | 200A and 25VLaser Diode Driver

The PCM-7700 is a high-power current amplifier with an output that can be set from 5 A to 200 A. It is intended to drive laser diodes, bars, and arrays but can be used for any application that requires high current arbitrary waveforms. The PCM-7700-48 has an internal high-current power supply, whereas the PCM-7700-EX is powered from an external supply. Both models can support load voltage of 0 V to 25 V. In digital control mode, the pulse width can be set from 500 μs to 50 ms with a pulse repetition rate of single-shot to 1 kHz. In analog control mode, it is not limited by width and can amplify arbitrary waveforms.

Included with the unit is an evaluation board with all the necessary controls for the user to begin testing immediately. The output current can be set with the potentiometer on the evaluation board or with an analog voltage. Both analog and digital control modes are supported.

Accessories

AC Power Cord

Factory-supplied power cord, type IEC 320-C-13 grounding equipment power cord.

Twisted-Pair Output Cables

The factory-supplied output cables transfer output current pulses to an external device. Two twisted-pair cables fit the socket on the front panel of the PCM-7700; an Amp 770583-1 connector is supplied on the user end.

Evaluation Board

The evaluation board provides convenient connections to all of the available signals, allowing the user to utilize the system upon receipt. This includes such functions such as monitoring the output current and voltage, using a trigger source to set the frequency and pulse width, and connecting an analog signal that sets the current output.

Output Interface Board

The output interface board has connectors for the twisted-pair output cables. The customer can put a load on this interface board.
