Berkeley Nucleonics NIM instrumentation spans random and precision pulse generators and portable and bench NIM bins with self-contained supplies: the DB-2, PB-5, AP-3, and TB-4.
From detector-realistic and precision pulse generators to portable and bench NIM bins with self-contained supplies, the line covers pulse generation and power for nuclear and radiation-detection work. Pick the model that matches your task, then open its datasheet.

The Model DB-2 is a pulse generator which accurately simulates the random and pile-up characteristics of pulses from a radiation detector. It is used for testing and evaluating count-rate effects in nuclear systems.

The PB-5 sets a new standard for precision pulse generators. It offers full digital controllability with a built-in ramp generator for linearity testing, plus excellent linearity and stability even under varying temperatures, for testing the most demanding spectroscopy circuits.

The AP-Series Portanims are attractive, compact, portable NIM-compatible bins with self-contained power supplies, housing up to six modules for lab and field. Outputs: ±6 V / 4 A each, ±12 V / 1 A each, and ±24 V / 500 mA each.

A bin and power supply combination for plug-in modules. It can house twelve single-width modular instruments or a mixture of other sizes equivalent to twelve singles. Outputs: ±6 V, 8 A; ±12 V, 2 A; and ±24 V, 1 A.
View the TB-4 datasheet →Berkeley Nucleonics offers a range of NIM (Nuclear Instrumentation Module) systems for precision pulse generation and power supply in nuclear and radiation detection. The line is built for versatility, precision, and compact form, spanning nuclear physics, spectroscopy, and radiation monitoring.
The AP-3 Portable NIM Power Supply is a compact, portable solution that houses up to six modules with a clean, self-contained supply, for stable performance in both lab and field. For pulse generation, the DB-2 NIM Random Pulse Generator simulates the random and pile-up characteristics of pulses from radiation detectors, which makes it valuable for testing and evaluating count-rate effects in nuclear systems. The PB-5 Precision NIM Pulse Generator adds digital control, a built-in ramp generator for linearity testing, and strong linearity and stability even under varying temperatures, for the most demanding spectroscopy circuits. The TB-4 NIM Bin and Power Supply provides secure housing for up to twelve modular instruments.
The suite also includes the Model BH-1 NIM Tail Pulse Generator. The Model 8010 General Purpose Pulse Generator is now obsolete.
