SAM 950 (RIID) | Ruggedized Radiation Isotope Identifier
A handheld radiation isotope identifier (RIID) designed to meet ANSI N42.34 requirements for hand-held instruments used in radionuclide detection and identification. Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation (BNC) manufactures this device, which incorporates a patented PDA-based architecture for operation in demanding environments.
The SAM 950 supports gamma and optional neutron detection. It targets applications in homeland security, first response, military operations, and field analysis of nuclear materials.
