SAN RAFAEL, Calif., August 28, 2026. Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation (BNC) today introduced the ICX-400R, the 40 GHz top model of the ICX-FieldHawk family of real-time spectrum analyzers. The ICX-400R captures transient and agile signals gap-free, giving RF engineers a single tool for field work, spectrum monitoring, and bench measurement up to millimeter-wave frequencies.
The ICX-400R covers 9 kHz to 40 GHz with 100 MHz of gap-free real-time analysis bandwidth and sweep speeds up to 1 THz/s, driven by an FPGA-based fast FFT engine. Real-time capture means short, intermittent, and frequency-agile events are recorded rather than missed between sweeps, which matters when engineers are hunting interference or characterizing signals that do not sit still.
The 40 GHz tier is available across all three ICX form factors: the handheld multi-touch ICX-FieldHawk, the sealed IP68 rugged tablet (ICX-FieldHawk-R), and the pocket ICX-Series USB receiver. Each form factor runs the same measurement engine, so a result taken on the flight line matches a result taken in an ATE rack. The rugged version adds an impact-protected chassis with corner bumpers and extended temperature classes that reach down to -40 °C, so the instrument works in vehicles, on towers, and in the field rather than only in the lab.
