The ERK-506 Emergency Kit is designed for responders requiring a quick grab radiological response kit capable of measuring alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. It utilizes the Model DSM-506 Digital Survey meter that provides a user-friendly measurement system that easily switches between measuring dose rate and contamination and is equipped with a timed count scaler function for improved accuracy of low level measurements.

The DSM-506 employs an internally housed, energy compensated GM detector plus two interchangeable external detectors; the Model HP-265 for measuring alpha/beta/gamma/ contamination, and the highly gamma sensitive Model MRSP-1 scintillator for locating the source of higher radiation fields. A Cs-137 check source is supplied to perform a functional check on the probes. All components of the system are contained in a durable carrying case for easy storage and portability.
