Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation (BNC) was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in San Rafael, California, with additional offices across the United States and an international network of representatives. BNC designs and manufactures precision electronic instrumentation for test, measurement, and nuclear research.
For more than six decades the company has built instruments that working engineers and scientists rely on in the laboratory and in the field. That same engineering experience is what fills the practical sections of this book.
David A. Brown is President of Berkeley Nucleonics. He has spent more than three decades with the company, with a focus on its strategic growth.
He is a graduate of San Francisco State University's Lam College of Business. He lives in Northern California.
This volume is part of the Berkeley Nucleonics "Nuts and Bolts" technical reference series. The series collects practical, field-tested engineering knowledge into reference guides written for the people who specify, build, and use precision instrumentation. This volume covers scintillation technology.
Companion learning resources are available at academy.berkeleynucleonics.com. The academy extends the material in these books with tutorials, worked examples, and reference tools for readers who want to go deeper.
For product specifications, model numbers, and current configurations, verify against the current datasheet. The reference material in this series is written to stay general where the underlying physics is settled, and to point readers to authoritative sources where the details change.
