The [Multi-Channel Analyzer](https://www.berkeleynucleonics.com/bmca-usb) (MCA) is a critical instrument for nuclear chemistry. It can measure advanced relationships among radioisotopes, such as energy, activity, half-life abundance and can present the relationships to the nuclear chemist in multiple ways depending on the application.

The new [Topaz-HR](https://www.berkeleynucleonics.com/topaz-hr) is a stand-alone digital MCA, which is able to perform Pulse Height Analysis (PHA) of the signal produced by high-resolution gamma-ray semiconductor detectors, such as Hyper-Pure Germanium Detectors (HPGe). Such detectors are commonly used in high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometry, a technique vastly implemented in any advanced radioanalytical laboratory or as part of comprehensive nuclear analytical methods. The [Topaz-HR](https://www.berkeleynucleonics.com/topaz-hr) can be also be used with detectors with lesser energy resolution, such as [scintillator detectors](https://www.berkeleynucleonics.com/scintillation-crystals-and-detectors), like NaI(Tl), LaBr3, CeBr3, etc.​
