Version 2.0.B palmGRAPH Radiation Detection Utility Software

June 29th, 2009

In addition to the plotting capability of radiation counts over time found in palmGRAPH Version 1.0, new enhancements include:

Radiation Alert Functionality: Now an alert can trigger the execution of another computer program or batch file, and/or set voltage to another serial port on the computer to trigger a relay switch that stops a machine. Also added is a variable called “Consecutive Minutes to Alert”, which requires the program to accumulate more than 1 minute of data before triggering an alert. [ Open that Advanced button in the Alert Level section of the main screen for more info. ]

Identification of Monitoring Station: Now you can identify your monitoring station and associated data records, including graphs and spreadsheets, by the Person Monitoring, Location, Altitude, Geiger Counter Model, etc. [ Open User Setup/Identify Monitoring Station for more detail. ]

Improved Interface: An enhanced user interface includes a flashing LED with each radiation count, and more speed buttons.

More Data: The main screen now tracks the “Last” CPM, which is the best indication, versus “Current” and “Average”, of current and accurate radiation levels.

Spreadsheet Editing: The count data for each minute is recorded on an internal spreadsheet, and now you can make notes for each of those minutes for analysis that you may be conducting.

Other Options: For multitasking, you can optionally minimize the program to the System Tray instead of the Taskbar to take up less space. You can enable automatic restart of the program in the event of an improper computer shutdown. You can get a warning of a Detector Failure, and adjust the cycle time for that warning. Networkability is also available, contact the manufacturer for more details.
