ChemIMS

The ChemIMS is an excellent “first reach” tool in your suite of CBRNE detection systems. Offering users advanced capabilities at an affordable price, the ChemIMS can be used for both detection and classification of chemical threats.

The ChemIMS is an idea first-line-of-defense detection system easily operated by the first responder with limited training. As an early detection of chemical compounds can be obtained, the ChemIMS will provide detection and identification of nerve blister and blood…… chemical warfare agents (CWAs) and toxic industrial compounds/materials (TICs/TIMs).

  • 2nd Generation Model
  • Open Loop IMS -- The Real Advantage
  • Training and Reachback Programs

The technology in this product integrates a sensor, fast processing electronics and firmware. With hundreds deployed, the technology has been refined to provide accurate results in a rugged, always-ready design. The sensor uses an Open Loop Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) technology. Superior to other IMS detectors, the ChemIMS has an increased capability is compound selectivity and sensitivity, a technology we call Ion Mobility Cell™.

The ChemIMS weighs less than 1 ˝ lbs., and can be powered by a rechargeable battery pack or off-the-shelf AA batteries. The user interface is 3 buttons and a large LCD screen, easily viewed and operated in PPE, and single hand operation with gloves is easily achievable. The display shows battery life, date/time and add-alarm volume. All the alarm events are stored for later recall and analysis.

ChemIMS is small enough to be used as a personal detector, a monitor for surveying contaminated areas or a fixed installation detector. In contrast to other IMS systems readily available, the ChemIMS offers users the advantage of continuous operation without the need of expendable desiccant cartridges. The ChemIMS has no expendables resulting in a low life cycle / operating costs.

Training and a reachback support programs are available to end users.
