Light pulse generators are a logical extension of our experience with developing stable-amplitude, precisely-timed electrical pulse generators. We offer units that can operate with either LED or laser diode sources, thus providing two distinctly different light sources.
Our LED-driven light pulse generator technology, with its built-in optical feedback that senses power level fluctuations and automatically corrects for those fluctuations, provides stable amplitudes. These surprisingly affordable units come in a wide variety of wavelengths to meet the demands of the optical testing community.

Because they offer a turnkey method to simulate the pulse light from lasers, BNC’s laser diode driven light pulse generators have become a favorite of the defense and military electro-optics community. The light can be easily routed and maneuvered with the fiber output of the Model 6040 optical modules to facilitate integration into a test system. The light can be collimated and focused down to a µm-sized spot. Quadrant detector position sensitivity, receiver sensitivity, receiver alignment, rangefinding and receiver saturation are some of the areas where these light pulse generators can be used.
