A book like this one is rarely the work of a single hand. The text was shaped by the people who design, test, and support arbitrary waveform generators for a living, and it is better for their fingerprints.

Technical review came from the Berkeley Nucleonics applications engineering team, the engineers who spend their days helping customers turn a signal requirement into a working bench. They checked the chapters for accuracy, pushed back where a claim ran ahead of the physics, and grounded the examples in the kind of problems that actually arrive on a support line. Where the book gets the details right, the credit is largely theirs. Where it does not, the responsibility stays with the author.

The Berkeley Nucleonics product and marketing teams helped keep the instrument references current and the descriptions honest, and they made sure the book points readers back to the published datasheet rather than to a number frozen in print. That instinct, to treat the datasheet as the authority and this text as the explanation, runs through every chapter.

The book also draws on something larger than any one department. Berkeley Nucleonics has been building signal-generation instruments since 1963, starting with fast-risetime pulse generators for nuclear research and growing into a broad family of arbitrary waveform generators. That heritage is the quiet contributor behind these pages. Decades of work on edges, timing, and clean output taught the company most of what it knows about putting a precise signal where an engineer needs it, and that accumulated knowledge informs the explanations throughout.
